Company growth continued through the 1970s, and in the early 1980s sons James and Scott Erickson began managing the business. In 1985 they assumed ownership, and in 1987 expanded the company geographically to the Duluth area with another base of operation. By 1997 the company had grown in size and prominence to become a preferred contractor in the Duluth, northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin areas. This same year Jim Erickson became president and sole owner of Max Gray Construction, Inc. In 2002 Jim Abrahamson was named Vice President of Construction and Bill Lowry became Vice President of Finances with both men becoming company shareholders.
The turn of the century brought over $20 million in work, a company milestone and compelling response to their straightforward method of doing business. The company continues to build a strong reputation in their region. According to owner Jim Erickson, "Our business exemplifies the highest standards of skill, integrity and responsibility in every project".
Our way of doing business is built into each project. Delivering a quality project on time and within budget requires us to implement the following standards.
Every client. Every project. Every time. Our attitude of excellence pushes us to meet or exceed expectations and sets the standard for how we conduct business.
With decades of quality construction under our belt, our perspective goes beyond design and construction to provide a streamlined, constructive process and project.
